Alcora is an industrial town of about 11,000 people. It forms a corner in the so called "ceramic tile factory triangle" (with Onda and Vila-real) in the province of Castellón (Valencian Community).

The work in Alcora began as an outgrowth of the church in the neighboring town of Onda.  It began as a fortnightly Bible study in 2008, under the leadership of the Onda church.  As time went on, the Bible study group requested ECM to send a full-time missionary couple or family to live in Alcora to develop a church plant there.

So B.J. & Rachel Whitaker moved to Alcora in 2010, and during 3 years laid the spiritual and relational groundwork for establishing a church plant in the town.  In 2014 we formed a team with Guillermo and Marisa Kampjes and local believers, and in 2015 we opened a storefront ministry center for our small community of believers to meet for worship services, as well as to reach out to the community through offering English classes, activities for families and children, and counseling services.  Our church community is called Comunidad Cristiana En El Camino, the "Christian Community on the Way," so please pray for us as we invite others to follow Jesus with us.
